AI-STROKE
A digital neurologist for detecting strokes
The problem
A stroke: suddenly the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain is interrupted. A race against time has just begun because emergency medical treatment is only possible in the very first hours.
The clinical signs of a stroke vary greatly from patient to patient as they depend on the specific area of the brain that is affected. Very often, the patient, relatives, and even emergency professionals do not understand that a stroke has occurred.
While we waste time making the right diagnosis, the patient is losing 2 million neurons every minute.
Our solution
Nowadays, before carrying out a CT or MRI, the neurologist makes a diagnosis by watching and listening to the patient as they perform a few simple exercises: “give a broad smile”, “raise both arms”, and “repeat these few sentences” etc.
AI-Stroke has developed a digital neurologist that uses Artificial Intelligence to establish a diagnosis of an accuracy comparable to that of an expert neurologist, even when no doctor is on hand. Our mobile application, embedded in a tablet or smartphone, films the patient while they perform these same exercises, and then analyzes the videos.
