First patient added to our database

logo CHU.png

On August 28, 2023, the team of Professor THOUVENOT (the head of the Neurology Department at the University Hospital of Nîmes ) included the first patient on our database for the research project «Predistroke». Following the patient's consent, a tablet is used to record him performing various tasks under the guidance of the doctor. The entire process takes an average of 10 minutes. We aim to create a well-annotated dataset of 300 stroke patients and 300 normal volunteers to train our AI model.

On the morning of Wednesday 21 September 2022 , the interview of the CEO Cedric Javault by Morgane Guiomard was broadcasted as part of the file : Nouvelle Eco

To train our AI, in addition to the videos of stroke patients (which will be filmed at the University Hospital of Nîmes), we need videos of healthy patients. For this step, an individual consent is enough: we thank our first 7 volunteers and Villa Helios in Montpellier for their kindness!

The School for Computer Science and Advanced Techniques

(EPITA) is the number one engineering school in France for computer science. We are very proud that its managers and students have chosen AI-Stroke for a PFEE project: concretely, a team of 4 students of 4th and 5th year will work during 8 months with Fabien to develop the v1 of our application to collect videos of stroke patients as well as the administration features of the server.

The official birth of

AI-Stroke

Using the most recent research papers on stroke, as well as 8 datasets of people who had a stroke or facial paralysis, after several months of work, we achieved 94% accuracy (F1 score for AI specialists) on images of facial paralysis. A beautiful first step that reproduces the results of the best papers of the last years!
